v7.0 — Final Update — Thank you for building this with me. The UI is back to a clean, normal, readable look — solid panels, rounded corners, no gimmicks — because a good game should feel calm to actually play. And a few last things every survival game deserves before we call it done: real sound (every break, place, hit, hit-taken, craft, meal, level-up, achievement, and death now has its own tiny synthesized cue — no audio files needed), an achievements system (mine your first block, craft your first item, step into the Nether, reach the End, fell the Inferno Golem, hit level 10, suit up in diamond), and a proper Death Screen instead of just a toast. From a single crafting page to swimmable oceans, four dimensions, bosses, villages, a creative Map Maker, and a title screen — this is 2dCraft, version 7.0. Go build something. v6.3 — Living World UI — Something no other game has done: the entire HUD is now organic and dimension-reactive. Panels have a torn-leaf silhouette instead of rectangles, living vine tendrils grow and pulse across the screen in the background, and the whole UI's material and color physically changes based on which dimension you're standing in — living green vines in the Overworld, cracked ember veins in the Nether, crystalline threads in the End. Same layout, different living skin, driven live by your actual location in the game. v6.2 — HUD Console — An actual structural redesign, not a recolor: every panel, pill, button, and slot switched from solid filled rounded tablets to transparent glass panels with sharp corners and glowing viewfinder-style corner brackets. Added a scanline overlay for a HUD-console feel. Primary buttons are now outlined-glow instead of solid-filled. v6.1 — Switched the whole UI palette to deep forest green. Real vertical camera: the world now scrolls up and down around you, not just side to side — dig as deep or build as tall as you want, no more hidden floor/ceiling. Water, lava, and the moon now use animated GIFs. Fixed a real bug: night never actually darkened the sky before — it now properly goes black with stars. v6.0 — Full Redesign — Complete visual overhaul: new "Brass & Ember" palette and angular cut-corner panels replace the old stone-tablet look everywhere. Brand new Title Screen — start a new world, load one, jump to Map Maker, or read the tutorial before you even spawn in, plus a seed box right on the title card. New: Ladders (climbable) and Golden Apples (full HP + hunger restore). Bug fix: crafting a new sword no longer silently swaps out a better weapon you already had equipped — it now only auto-equips on an actual upgrade. v5.0 — THE BIG UPDATE — Biomes are way bigger: oceans, deserts, and snow now stretch on for a long time before changing. New Jungle biome with dense, towering trees. Real flowing liquid engine: water and lava now fall and spread with proper levels (waterfalls, ponds filling gaps, lava flowing slower/shorter than water) instead of random chance. New Rabbit mob (food + hide). New Amethyst ore/block in the End. Pickaxes and Axes (wood → stone → iron → diamond → emberforged → end) that automatically speed up mining stone/ore and chopping wood — no need to equip them, your best one is used automatically. v4.7 — Hotbar (and all inventory/craft icons) now show real block textures instead of flat colors. UI polish pass: hover-lift and glow on buttons/pills/hotbar, smoother bar-fill and toast animations. Consolidated the side HUD into fewer, cleaner cards. Shop overhaul: split into Colors/Hats sections, hat previews, color-coded pricing, and buying now equips instantly. v4.6 — Caves removed. Fixed a crash: missing/404'd texture PNGs (like bricks.png or snow.png if you haven't added them yet) were throwing "InvalidStateError" because a broken image still reports complete=true — every texture draw now also checks naturalWidth first and safely falls back to a flat color. v4.5 — Caves no longer look like scattered missing blocks (bigger, deeper, less noisy pockets). Oceans are much bigger and deeper. Villages are now a real two-house layout with torches. Animals spawn far less often and are capped per area. All mob spawning now fully pauses while the tab is in the background, so nothing floods in while you're away. v4.4 — Hunger meter (press F to eat), a day counter, real mining (hold left-click, watch the crack animation), caves with ore clusters, snowy biome with falling snow, rare villages with a bed & door, the Inferno Golem boss in the Nether (drops a Molten Core trophy), and an in-game Tutorial guide (❓ in the menu). v4.3 — Play area enlarged. New "Go to Seed" box in this menu — type any seed number (including ones from before this update) to regenerate that world instantly. New: bricks (craft from stone), Top Hat, and Ember Orange color. v4.2 — Combat fixed: attack hitbox now follows the direction you're facing (previously attacks facing left could whiff). Hearts are now actually heart-shaped. Added Wood Sword (starter) and the End Sword/Armor (best in the game). Water and lava now flow into dug-out gaps instead of staying static. New: The End dimension — reach it with an End Portal, mine end stone and ender pearls, and fight Voidlings. v4.1 — Character update: Steve-style look (skin, hair, teal shirt, denim pants), full animation overhaul (facing direction, idle breathing, walk cycle, jump tuck, swim tilt+paddle, attack swing). Nether update: lava hazard, soul sand, glowstone, quartz, nether brick, two new hostile mobs (Cinder Crawler, Ember Wraith + fireballs), and the Emberforged sword/armor endgame tier. Bottom menu rebuilt as a fixed icon dock. v4.0 — New UI (stone-tablet look + hotbar). Coal/iron/gold ores with matching sword & armor tiers. Pigs, sheep and spiders join cows, zombies and skeletons, with reworked animal art. Water is now actually swimmable (buoyancy, swim-up/down, an oxygen meter). Desert biome with cactus and sandstone. Torches, glass and wool. Spawn area is now guaranteed clear of ocean and trees so you never spawn boxed in. v3.1 — Water lowered to ground level. Trees no longer spawn half-cut. Nether portal works with a cooldown and safety platform.
